The arrangements by LaBamba are reminiscent of the Nelson Riddle classic Sinatra arrangements. And it gets BETTER with each play. A hidden jewel. Imagine Tom Waitts material sung by Southside Johnny with a really big bad sound. Sounds incongruous but it's all comes together perfectly and is just fabulous. The musicians are kick a** and it's Tom Waitts (who also does a duet with Johnny) interpreted wonderfully by Johnny.

Next, I want to hear Tom Waits do a Johnny Lyon tribute, with maybe a slow version of "I don't want to go home". C'mon, Tom.step to the plate.

She didn't recognize who it was but then listened all the way through more than once. What's not to like. We have a lot of Southside - I played it for my wife who loves him. A truly great album - humor, pathos, great tunes.

I have enjoyed much of Southside's music but didn't really care much for this one.

I bought this for someone else's gift.But going by the way She says it gets played;it must be pretty good.If you like Southside Johnny/Tom Waits.
